A summer friend is coming down from Heaven on a string of his blue web. It's the first day of spring, and I want my fellow WP members to see a different side of me today.

Tried practicing on my guitar again. I've "played" since 2002 but can only play a handful of songs all the way through and even those ones took years to learn. I can get certain parts but playing them all together as a whole just doesn't work and when I look at the clock, the day is gone. I just struggle for nothing. :(

Do you practice regularly or just when you feel like it? Have you learned scales and things of that nature? What kinds of songs do you try to play unsuccessfully and what in particular do you struggle with in those songs?

Lately I've had to force myself to practice because my energy level tends to be low when I get home from work but even when I make myself, it feels like I am just spinning my wheels. I know some scales. I struggle with sheet music and have to rely on tabs. Most popular songs for the guitar have guitar solos which I find unnecessarily difficult and frustrating to pull off. The few songs I can play all the way through don't have guitar solos and have chord progressions that I can easily memorize. If the chord progressions change too much, it discourages me. I feel like if I practice at a song but can't memorize it no matter how many times I try that I will never learn it.

I hope Marknis is still posting - i just wanted to update on my therapy progress- met her yesterday and already feeling better today. It was bumpy in between as talking about things brought a lot of sadness or grief to the surface.
But now midday I feel more settled and as though I am moving forward slowly- not stuck

Hi, blooiejagwa. Sadly, I have to wait another week until I can see a psychiatrist about getting new medicine. :(

many of the songs i played were not memorized. i sometimes taped a note with the chord progressions onto the top side of my guitar where i could see it while i played.

I got lots of writing done.

At this rate, I'll be done Book IV in the next five days. Then I'll type it out, which will probably take eight days--just in time to work on Book VI for NaNo. And [ugh] that course...

How are you guys?

I can't believe that I've been steady on the Internet for 20 years. I wonder what the Internet will be like in another 20 years.

I bully people on this forum and send PMs with graphic images depicting violence.

Not really.
But people tell others I do, so....same difference?

Try dealing with that one.
