I guess so. Well, and my mum wants me to/expects me to/asked me to.

I know you can think of reasons not to attend but can you think of the benefit of going?
Like what could you get from it which you can take with you?
Could you help others with any knowledge gained?
etc.

Maybe.

Probably.

I don't know.

I know you are caught between a rock and a hard place but it could sweeten the sour with some incentives.

Whenever I have attended courses I didn't want to I have usually got something from it. Regardless of any anxiety I felt before going. I also praise myself for surviving.

Just from looking at the subject list, it'll mostly be stuff I know already. Along with stuff I don't want to know about [I wonder if I should tell someone there that I am asexual...]

Not really.
But people tell others I do, so....same difference?

Try dealing with that one.

it's weird I am currently dealing with the exact same issue IRL as I experienced here , in a way what happened here was useful as I did a bit of research on projecting and blame shifting - it was a real eye opener although people have got a lot scarier to me.

ohhhhh i want to ban her again and again and again

oh i'll make her uneasy, that's for sure

^ This makes me feel guilty , I feel responsible for both of you suffering , you'd never of known if I suffered in silence.
It seems like too high a cost to pay , it's like I've infected you both. :(

But how can this be your fault? :(

Please don't make me feel guilty about you feeling guilty

You said we should vent so I just wanted to join in the venting wagon so that you two don't feel alone in PBTS.

Well technically it's not my fault , but you wouldn't of known if I hadn't told you.

Now I feel guilty making you feel guilty about me feeling guilty

Don't get me wrong , I'm all for the venting , I think it's cathartic , but there is also a bit of me that feels partly responsible ( I feel like I put my foot in my mouth ) , I'd like a do-over and not reveal as much information as I did , there are things I have said to you & Raleigh that I should of sugar coated to make it easier on you both

no, you were right not to sugar coat it!

if you didn't say we wouldn't have known, and Raleigh might doubt even more that he, in fact, did something wrong, which as ridiculous as saying that Trump has a good hair stylist or that Angela Merkle is sexy.

If you sugar coated she might have hurt more people, since I'm not sure that all the truth would have come out, so you sir will be thanked for it whether you like it or not! :P

fair enough

btw, i'll send you this llama's hair-stylist if you ever dare to feel guilty about this again:

Send the stylist anyway I am starting to look a little unkempt

it seems that gillete mach 3 fusion is the key:

If there are subjects which you would find distressing or offensive then I don't see why not.
You are an adult with the right to refuse something if it is definitely something you do not want.

I refused to have my bank statement photocopied today - I felt it was unnecessary and I was uncomfortable.
(I allowed her to read through it instead after she had explained why she had to).

^I wish I had thought of that when I attended a course on socializing and sexuality. I spent most of it with my hands over my ears. Though I wasn't technically an adult then. I still feel like a child, most days, though not necessarily in a bad way.

I believe we all have a child inside of us no matter how old we get.
I also know the adult in us can get us out of trouble too. :)

One of the biggest excuses I have in either continuing to do something that might not serve me, or not doing something that might serve me, is 'Mum won't like it.' I usually follow up with 'she deserves more because she's had a harder life' and 'whatever her expectations are, I will/have to try to fulfill them.' I keep going in circles over this.

I'm not sure how much that says about me.

I'm really not, or at least, I think I'm not.

But you do all sorts of things to ensure your mum feels better or to give her pleasure.

What I wonder is how will you give yourself the same compassion when you are giving so much to others?

But that's just simple decency.

Switching to a slightly more light-hearted topic:

It would almost be easier to do the webcomic as another novel. But I've come to realize that there's a certain visual humour that novels can't necessarily fulfill. Calvin and Hobbes and the Order of The Stick [my favourite comics] are basic proof of that.

It is simple decency and most of us want to please our parents but there are times where our own needs can conflict with that - hence you going round in circles.
This is probably one of the hardest challenges a child faces, throughout their life, because it can still be there later in life too.
But how do we find that balance?
