@Cockney Rebel,
I found a letter my auntie in Germany wrote to my mum in England in 1966.
I think you'd like it.

I'd love to see that letter.

Yes I know it's German for "thanks" but I can't see that word without remembering an ice cream from South America called a "Danke crack", which seemed an unfortunate English meaning.
And the soda was called "Pap".

I also couldn't tell anyone I drove a "Toyota Pajero"

I wonder how I really would have faired in the 60s.

I thought I'd show the world another version of a German Sweet Pea.

How I'd rather use Om Nom with a German flag than The Kinks for an avatar. Is my England neuron working okay?

Today and tonight I have found my mind flooded with some best memories of visits to the USA. Florida came up first. I stayed in St Petersburg for a while in 1996 and had many wonderful experiences. So some of these are on my mind right now. 1) Wonderful food at the St Petersburg Yacht club - would be in the top five meals I have ever had. 2) Invited to lunch by a lovely couple in a beautiful house beside a river somewhere in St Petes, and it was beautifully catered; then I was handed some fresh lettuces (which baffled me) and led down to the river side. To my great surprise and joy there were Manatees waiting for their lunch, as they did every day at the same time - the only time I have ever seen these wonderful creatures. (I am sad to learn tonight that polluted water has greatly affected them in the decades since, killing the plants they eat). Didn't travel very widely in Florida but have only good memories of my time and adventures there and the hospitality was wonderful. I revisited in 2005, briefly, and enjoyed re-meeting old friends.

I'm actually looking at my room now and I'm thinking: woah this is a nice room man

I don't think I've ever felt like this about my room before

The trees are still a wash with berries with there being hardly any wasps about this season

I was right about the closing part of Curtains by Elton John. It is "Lovely London Lady".

My attention span is kaput lately unless it involves music.

I've spent the past 15 minutes putting stuff back in my kitchen cupboards.
