Did you ever run away from home?

Very much so ~ learning to get further for longer on each attempt. Winters were problematic to start with, but got the hang of them in my further education years, lived rough for about four years thereafter, did a bit of sofa surfing, and then after a year or two of that ~ got fixed accommodation.

The main problem for my parents, was they kept threatening me as child and teenager with going and making my own way in the world ~ only I did not take these as threats to be feared, but as really really welcomed permissions to leave.

Did you get people trying to control you with fear ~ only it just did not work?

I was controlled and manipulated by fear for a very long period of time, to an extent that I've yet to recover nearly ten years later. This leads to a vicious cycle with shame and regret. I feel I was targeted and exploited because of my naivete, and inability to judge intent.

You?

I was controlled and manipulated by prejudice and entrapment ~ with the prejudice being that my mother wanted my dead once older baby brother instead of me, as was balanced by my younger neurotypical brother's 'golden' standards of social responsibility and achievement, and the entrapment of knowing where I was going to fail, in the sense of setting objectives I had previously failed at, and if not failing causing me to fail ~ by hijacking my responsibilities, directing my interests to things I was not interested in, and giving me criticism after criticism about not doing things properly, fast enough or whatever.

This I just went along with pretty much to make things easier, then secondary school happened and it all went disastrously. At primary school, I had a fair few problems, but nothing that bothered me, as my grandfather (a seriously and collectively respected man) got a job as the school janitor and nobody got or wanted any opportunity to cause me to have any real problems.

At secondary school though the psychological abuse was heinous in the first year, as my stepfather had asked two of the senior year school goliaths to do essentially my grandfathers job, and intellectualism and academic aptitude were collectively pretty much taken to be elitist oppression of manual labourers ~ so the onslaught of abuse for being a teachers pet (i.e. knowing stuff) was quite immense and more generally respected, or if not accepted.

Once the senior year goliaths had left and I was in my second year ~ nobody was quite sure at first how free they were to start beating me up so the first month was exploring that, and I decided as such to inform my parents I could not handle it any more, as I was in a complete and utter psychological mess. I could not in the first month though get the courage up to say anything (due to the promises of what would happen if I did tell), but in the second month with the physiological abuse also having gotten heinous ~ I decided one night just before passing out, that enough was enough, and had to tell my parents what was going on.

That morning after breakfast, and with my brother having left for the 'social' before the school bus arrived, I was warned by my parents that I would be late, and then I told them I was being bullied and getting called names. I did not particularly want to go into the names, and I was under the impression the report of the multitude acts of violence would be a 'two-in-one-done' session. They asked me what names I was being called, so I told them one, and they both burst into full on laughter and it kept them amused for weeks after, and not only them, but their friends too enjoyed the joke, and that is how my bullies found out I had told on them, and the psychological and physiological abuse just increased and kept on increasing for the remaining four years.

I had a complete emotional breakdown in that second year two months after telling my parents, which is when I got diagnosed as being "Schizo-Affective and/or Psychopathic", and then I had a complete and utter mental and emotional breakdown in my fifth and final year. I had no idea in my second school year that I was going to be assessed by a psychologist at school, until the whole class had sat for the first lesson of the day, and the teacher told me in front of the whole class bullies and all that I was excused to see the psychologist ~ and told which office to go to. Keep in mind here that seeing a psychologist during the earlier eighties was rather a social taboo in the UK, and on account of which the bullying got umpteen times worse, and hence the full on breakdown in the last year.

I have got all of my psychological issues clocked now, along with just about managing them presently, and am progressively as such working my way through the underlying issues involved with which. In terms though of having been exploited, I am really very experienced with that, and although I do not clock what particular intent people have, I am really experienced with clocking sociological patterns, so I am pretty used to people doing one thing or another along a particular theme. I suppose an analogy here would be like people gambling on a roulette wheel, in that it is obvious how it works ~ what with the slotted number wheel being spun in one direction, but knowing which numbered slot the ball getting rolled in the opposite direction is going to end up falling into . . . that is a wait and see session . . . :D :) :( :o 8O :? 8) :x :P       :!: :?:   :| :ninja: :jester:  :nerdy: :skull: ?

Excuse perhaps the ironic sarcasm humour here ➟ if any of the this makes any sense possibly?

I find them very interesting.

Have you ever seen a steam locomotive in real life?

Well I did rather have a thing for the reed-built boats of the ancient Egyptians, being that the Egyptian culture was the first one I really identified with. I was to a partial degree intrigued by the Phoenician read-builds, and a few others ~ only the Egyptian culture and anything about them was so much more my thing really. I do though have a particular liking for mast and sails ships of a hundred and plus years back, along with the Titanic and its internal decor and architecture, and although ships are not a special interest for me, my curiosity engages none the less.

Do have favoured historical era of boat construction, aesthetics and such like, or are you into historical boats in general perhaps?

I particularly like the era of around 200 years ago.
I have a lovely book - Fighting Ships 1750-1850 by Sam Willis.
It is a massive book with plenty of images. Costly too.
I was pretty sad when the boys at school got to make a boat and us girls had to do girly stuff.

With all the media covering so much stuff concerning women's issues and the right to vote etc. What is your opinion of the year of the woman? For example, how is this effecting you?

I feel if a girl wants to build a boat, let her build the damn boat!

Temmy is a woman who is both a craftsperson and one who is graceful at High Tea.

Do you dress up for High Tea?

Ditto on the boats. Don't stop me now.
Yes, but my version of dressed up is somewhat eccentric.

Do you own any costumes?

Would you attend a Star Trek convention?

No. I've never seen Star Trek and the zealous enthusiasm of so many costumed people would scare me.

Do you like go-carts?

I do. I used to be scared of the gasoline-powered ones, though.

Ever heard of the Soap Box Derby?

Yes I have; I believe it was on The Flintstones?

Do you have to "fake" your eye contact, or do you just not bother any more?

It depends on my mood. Sometimes, interestingly, I actually need eye contact. I learned this because I hated just lying on the couch while talking to my (then) therapist.

In the vast majority of situations, my eyes actually avert from other eyes, and I have to sort of "force" them towards the contact.

Did you like "Josie and the Pussycats?"

I think I've heard of them, but I don't recall them offhand. I have no idea how to search for them on this PC.

Do you let different types of food touch on your plate?

I'm a weird Aspie-Autistic....in that I like to mix my foods. Especially if it makes the whole dish softer.

Do you have a gourmet-type palate (I really don't).

I wouldn't say gourmet, although I like many cuisines. If something is spicy I'll eat it.

Do your socks always match?
