I can't wait to have roast chicken on Thursday

I caught myself using an old distraction that never worked last night.

People being put in group homes against their will.

Oh, sure, feeling and being needed and invited feels nice.

Except that I'm dealing with the regularly scheduled sinus infection, courtesy of the nightly post nasal drip every morning phlegm that never went away for a day and turned mild fever.

As much as I'd rather be out there, I'd end up being too irritated and too disruptive to participate, with a risk of being fricking infectious.

At least everyone knew I ought to be on bed rest, with meds and drinking lots of water...

... Still, I'd rather walk a lot outside all day instead of sweating mildly on cold in the bedroom all day, some upset stomach, that sore whatever's in my damnable nostrils pain, that clogged and somewhat painful sensation that my inner nose is inflamed, with it messing with my ears into this muffled yet also intolerant to high pitches...

Oh, sure, I can walk for like an hour at most out, which is sufficient for one of the errands I wanna do.


Still, it's frustrating.

I just need enough willpower to get myself out of bed when I've slept as much as I need to. That's not too much to ask, is it?

It would be nice if mothers actually acted like mothers instead of not being emotionally there for the people that they give birth to.

Nowadays my being up past my bedtime has an even clearer consequences than I did as a child.

Like, it literally hurts my head to be up at night longer.

Like, I'm either getting less tolerant because of aging, or sensitizing because there are no other internal noises to distract me from it anymore.
