Here's my Wizard of Oz anecdote:
- I was absolutely terrified when the witch took Toto and put him in her bicycle basket
- I ran out of the room and hid because I couldn't stand to see Toto stolen
(I wasn't afraid of the witch per se, just of losing a pet like that)
- For a few years I couldn't watch any further than that part
- I was completely amazed by the part that switches from black and white to colour
- I loved Lion
- I was terrified of the flying monkeys and for some time I couldn't watch past THAT part of the movie
- It seemed to take me forever to watch the whole movie without getting too scared
- I didn't understand that the wizard was fake even when I saw him behind the curtain
- I didn't understand that it was all a dream or that the characters were from Dorothy's real life
- I dreamed of black and white tornadoes for quite a while after every viewing
Did I cry? Yes, when the witch took Toto and no one would listen to Dorothy. That did me in.
Thanks for the bonobos info. I'll stick with chimps.
Do you ever have a day where all you want to do / are able to do is sit and stim?
