When describing water in the form of a beverage, it sounds awfully peculiar and futuristic

Apparently you can buy brand-new reproduction AE86 body shells and panels. They're made by Jiangsu Aodun Automotive Industry in China.

I'd love to see what people back in the 80s would say if you told them the AE86 Corolla would be such a desirable classic car some day that reproduction bodies would become a profitable endeavour.
