I first movie I remember seeing was "Rosemary's Baby" in a drive-in.

Same question.

I really don't know for sure. I know a few movies I saw as a child but I have no idea which ones came first.

Have you ever seen Grease?

Nope. It sounds fun but I'd likely get confused and pull the wrong cord and die :(

Would you?

Nope. I have a fear of heights.

When I was a kid, I feared heights so much that I refused to go on the monkey bars.

Same question.

I'm not afraid of heights per se, but some tall things frighten me. I'm irrationally phobic of ferris wheels because people are depending on (one?) flexible hinge to hold them from a free fall. I would never go on The Eye or other very tall ferris wheels (in fact, I'd avoid all ferris wheels).

Tall buildings and concrete or stable places are OK. Airplanes are fine because they have multiple back-up systems.

Do you like ice in your drinking water or do you prefer room temperature?

I HATE lukewarm water!

I need COLD, COLD water!

I wish all my drinks were 0.1 degree Celsius.

SAME! I love love love need need need the coldest water / drinks possible. I can't get enough ice water. I usually have ice to the top of my glass prior to adding cold water.

Do you like warm milk? (I think the idea is horrendous).

Can't stand it. Nor, for some reason, can I stand milk with ice. I like ice-cold milk, though.

Do you remember getting milk delivered to your home? (I did, up until about 1970).

My childhood home had a milk box (small external box with a latch), but I don't remember deliveries.

Have you ever had carollers call at your door prior to Christmas?

I used to love that milk! I used to drink too much of it for my family's satisfaction LOL We used to only get two quarts a week.

Nope...never had Christmas carolers sing at my door.

Ever go "visiting" on New Years Day?

We didn't go visiting. My parents were usually hosting big dinner parties on January 1st. There was a tradition where we would note / plan the first person to come through our door on the new year. The first visitor was expected to be a good, trusted person, and ideally they would enter with some type of gift to represent good fortune. I remember my grandfather coming when I was very young, before he disappeared.

I'm usually down and out for the first week or two of January. I get very tense around the new year because of the "passage of time" feeling, and my fear of the future.

Did / do you go visiting?

Nope...and I'm glad I didn't!

I like to just be quiet on New Years Day. I don't like people around me then.

I'm not really keen on the whole "holiday season," actually.

I feel that you're so young, Isabella. Do you ever feel "old?"

I agree. I don't like people around me, particularly in early January. It's a very ominous time for me because I get very anxious about the future and I feel myself moving farther from childhood.

Do I ever feel old? Well, physically, yes. I get very tired and can sometimes be cynical or jaded because of my experiences. PTSD makes me feel like my life has been much longer than in reality, because I keep cycling and reliving the bad memories as if they've happened thousands of times each.

Beyond this ^ I feel like an adolescent most of the time. My ASD assessor said that I got "stuck" at a young teenaged age in terms of social and emotional functioning. So, I still feel like a child on the inside. Sometimes that's fun (I like to do silly things and I have a certain joie de vivre), but other times I feel overwhelmed because I have the coping skills of an adolescent.

Long answer. Sorry. I'm a series of contradictions, all the time.

Do you feel old?

If my knee is acting up, I feel downright elderly LOL.

People often think that I'm "immature," and should "act my age." Most of the time, I feel "young," and act "young." I meow and growl in the subways. I speak in a way which is very unlike a 57-year-old person.

I guess I am, at times, "immature."

I like your joie de vivre, and your exuberance when you really like something. It's a pity you usually have to restrain it around certain people---like I have to restrain my around certain people.

Do you feel like you must "change" your room every couple of years?

I've had to restrain myself since I was about thirteen. All the other girls moved on (social skills, emotional skills), and I didn't. I couldn't put into words what was wrong but it was like my world stopped then. I've had to camouflage my inner child and naiveté ever since, oft to no avail. I'm easily tricked and manipulated because I'm overly trusting. Now that I know about my autism I'm trying to be more self-aware, and be myself as much as possible. (Odd, but I meow too -- I guess it's an echolalia thing?) I also say "RAR!!" or "RUG!! !" a lot, because it's satisfying somehow.

I'm in the midst of planning a massive room change for the autumn. I suppose that's true but it's been a very long time since I've had an opportunity to do so.

Do you chirp?
