I'd never heard of Smokey till Dragnet mentioned him once ( he must of been an American only icon ). So I definitely didn't know they were cousins.

Smokey fights forest fires and since there aren't any forests in the UK, no Smokey. I might be wrong about that though. .

There are quite a few forests in the UK but bears have been extinct in the wild for 1000's of years.
