There used to be many, many automats up until about the 1960s. In automats, you used to buy even hot foods from a booth using coins. Pies were 10 cents even in the 1960s in automats.

It is said that you could have met the most renowned celebrities in automats, and they would have spoken to you with respect; they were very democratic places.

Did you enjoy playing horsie as a kid?

I have one memory of playing horsie at school. It was in the same spot where I collected my caterpillars.
I preferred my real horses when I was 13.

I preferred horsie. I was afraid of riding real horses....though I've always liked them.

No sarcasm? SCOFF. School is rampant with sarcasm from teachers and students alike. Even the reading lists contain offensive material.

Would you want to abolish high school and make students learn online with national benchmarks?

Sometimes, I feel that way....

They, definitely, have to reform the high schools, though.

Do you feel women should have worn corsets in Victorian days?

That was OK. I didn't like being chased so I would freeze and pretend no one had unfrozen me.

Neither. They were girls' games in the 1960s. As was "jump rope." I believe all become unisexual later.

No but we had a billiard table when I was young. I think my mother still has it disassembled, somewhere.

I liked to build forts under it.
