Losing my father, having my life threatened for seven years, having a stroke and finding out that I'm autistic have all helped me to realize who I am. Who that person is, is another whole question.

The threat of not knowing whether I'll find professional work in the current economic climate without a degree led me to seeking out higher education. I'm glad I did, though.

Ahm I am not sure really but I’ll say mere hope and also feeling handicapped in a relationship while being the provider. I still don’t know why that didn’t make me a more assertive person. Or maybe I am born this way. Fighting for myself or my pride doesn’t make sense to me when in a relationship I think respect should come naturally. Or maybe the other person was just small and somehow I can’t see it and accept it.

Years of abusive relationships have forced me to look at how I treat myself and reprioritize.

How do you accept change you don't like?

Try not to worry too much. If it’s too big a change then obviously I get overwhelmed and every time I do - it only makes it worse. Although now-a-days I am realizing that you just gotta be more proactive with yourself in order to take care of yourself during that change.

I have found myself to be correct, but I've only put effort into making it come across if it's family; otherwise, in the case of non-family, depending on what it is, I'll usually just keep effort at a minimal.

only once have I done that.. Have you ever been misidentified as someone else?

No, but I had an entire year of difficulty with my legal name not matching on documents and being told by the government that I didn't exist as a birth in their registry. I could own a home, vote and pay taxes, but apparently I hadn't been born.
