Attended the last parent training session - the lady next to me invited me and my kid to play dates with her and another lady .. I declined saying ‘sorry I’m too shy’
She said ‘I’m shy too but she forced me’ etc n brought it up later but I kept just nodding politely n not accepting so I GUess she got it
I literally can’t fathom doing such a thing - I wd die. Shyness, social awkwardness, etc. I can’t do socu things. It’s literally impossible. It’s like inviting a robot. Nobody enjoys a robot’s company. And I think the robot’s wires wd burn out from the effort.
Trust me. You won’t die. It’s also not impossible. Also, you’re not a robot and robots are cool even if you were one. You just have to find a person/place/interest that you’re comfortable with. I’d have no social contact if it wasn’t for the dog rescue I’m with. They’re very accepting and we have a common ground. They don’t mind that I’m a little weird
It also might be good for your son if you can accept that as a reason to step out a little.
Side note: there’s a guy at work that despises me and basically pretends that I don’t exist.

The thing is. People don’t just stick to the topic at hand (eg the kids), they branch out and try to discuss other things. That is what I can’t do. It’s too unpredictable and I’m tense the entire time.
My brother, yesterday, had to take my kid to the library storytime thing instead of studying— I bolted the moment I realized what a large group it was.
Maybe the guy at work is a serial killer afraid of your Aspie sense detecting his evilness. Kinda kidding but Autistics can scare/intimidate bad ppl with their frankness
