Monkey bars for me(and I think we are talking about the same thing, the system of bars, low to high, in our schoolyard) we a challenge like Everest. I longed to get up to the high ones like the cool kids but I would get stricken with anxiety if I got higher and not be able to move. I wasn't popular as a kid (the exact opposite) and this didn't help. I would try again once the horror of it all had died down.
Q. Did you have friends as a kid?
Friends who weren't Elton John, or my brother? Hmmm...
Age 5: Girl, initials CC. I worshipped her because she could do the splits both ways. We had a fight because I didn't believe her when she taught me that "baby" turns into "babies" (ies rule, spelling). I didn't know that rule and I was incredulous.
Yes, I was a pedantic kid. Her family moved away.

The infamous Christine. My best friend ever. Long story but I still miss her.

In my 30's: My friend Linda. She was a mother figure for me, when I needed one most. I could write a book about her. It would read like Tuesdays with Morrie. She died suddenly three days after 9/11. That means today. This is the 17th anniversary of her passing, September 14, 2001. I went hysterical with grief at her funeral.
Our song was Queen / Bowie's Under Pressure.
Love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change your way of
Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last chance
This is ourselves:I still visit her grave.

Dee. She and I were good friends. She ditched me when I had my stroke. She wasn't there for me like she promised.
I don't know what happened. Bye, bye, Dee.

I have a guy friend. I went on holiday with him two weeks ago. It's platonic and has been for many years. The company was 'meh', and he smokes too much. We like to go boating, and listen to punk.
I hang out with books more than people.
Bedroom colour: traven: Three guesses! My bedroom is grey, but I have deep red and blue moroccan rugs and lots of deep red and blue accents. My bedding is various shades of grey. I like to feel like I'm in a thunderstorm, in the 1840s.
I have antique furniture and 200 year old hardwood floors.
