Well, you know, most of my books feature a lot of reincarnation.

The first book of my new series features a bunch of anthropormorphic personifications. One of them might be Grace. Since my name means graceful [or flower, depending on the language], I might make it look like me.

Nice idea. :D

Grace might be the little sister of the eight, even though I don't have any siblings. Dream might be the most powerful. I haven't decided yet. So far I've got: Grace, Dream, Compassion, Wisdom, with kids Hope, Wish, Harmony, Unity, and Demi. Four more, then.

They all have secret names known only to themselves or each other. Let's see...four more...hmm...ooh, Sacrifice might be a neat one to have. I'd like to use Wanderer as well, but I used that already in my first series.

Oh, do you both think I was being patronizing?

No.

I can patronise something and that's a good thing.
If I patronise someone that's a bad thing.
I can be a patron of a business, but if I patronise someone I'm not their patron, unless I'm also a saint.
Patronising means condescending, which means you put yourself above someone.
Yet condescending also means coming down to their level.
And if you accuse someone of being condescending they will say it's because they're right and you're being difficult. :x

No storekeeper minds if you patronize the store.

No writer minds if you patronize her book.

Depends how you patronise it.

I'm worried that SaveFerris has fallen off the edge of the map.
He's not even reading PMs.

To be honest, I wouldn't call the above "patronizing" under both definitions.

That was an unequivocal criticism.

A person "patronizing" a writer would say that she has "potential." A person patronizing a writer's works in a positive way would dig deep into the writer's intentions, the writer's style, and formulate his/her own notions. The patron would make a great effort to understand what is being written.

Maybe Ferris is doing some sort of "reverse hibernating." He is a contrary Ferret, after all!

I've got it figured out at last: Adult personifications Grace, Innocence/Compassion [i can't figure out which one to use], Intuition, Sacrifice, Endurance, Fate, Free Will, and Dream, and children Unity, Harmony, Hope, Wish, and Demi.

The same word has completely opposite meanings depending on how you use it or what you use it on.
It does my head in.
