No.
I can patronise something and that's a good thing.
If I patronise someone that's a bad thing.
I can be a patron of a business, but if I patronise someone I'm not their patron, unless I'm also a saint.
Patronising means condescending, which means you put yourself above someone.
Yet condescending also means coming down to their level.
And if you accuse someone of being condescending they will say it's because they're right and you're being difficult.
