that one first posted was meant to be klogg, but it ended up looking not like i would have liked it (most likely the inclusion of a chin)

so i scrapped the idea. he's kessler now.

It would be rather hard to raise a wolf cub, wouldn't it?

Yes, it likely would. They are lovely and beautiful of course, but as much as they are wonderful and loving puppies, they will usually change as they mature and become harder to deal with than a dog. That's not to say that wolves can't be loving pets, they can, but expect more of a challenge than most dogs would tend to be. The book "Chakka: My Wolf-Child" by Bevie J. Gravlin tells the story of one wolf pet.
A Care2 article I read some time ago mentioned another wolf pet whose family didn't know he was a wolf, unfortunately the article talks more about dogs and wolves in general than the story itself.

Here's a link to a lovely Arctic Wolf Sanctuary near Tidewater, Oregon:

http://www.whitewolfsanctuary.com/index.php

Were I in the US I'd certainly love to spend a week or so there as a volunteer to learn more about the lovely wolves! There are photo galleries on the site, showing how each one is different and has a different personality.

Thanks for the link, those are lovely indeed. I wouldn't mind volunteering there either. I don't get why wolves get such a bum rap (although I think farmers have a lot to do with that, because you know heaven forbid they should look after their sheep, no it's better to wipe out the predators as they did here, and when they were re-introduced they managed to claim that they didn't belong in Norwegian nature  whenever a sheep they just send out is killed they wanna hunt wolves. ).
Anyway, wolves are beautiful, smart and to be respected.
If I was in the US I'd be a regular volunteer at Sea Turtle Hospital.

Some wolf pups (grin)
