I confess, I just freaked my wife out, but I really didn't mean to. 8O :?

She was going upstairs, and she starts screaming, "Honey! Honey! Come get this! Put it outside!"

So I come and look, and it's a very large black beetle, about an inch long. I get out one of my Surefires and put some high-intensity hallogen light on it; I note that it has a beautiful metallic sheen in the light, and a wicked looking set of jaws. But since the beetle's chick chitin armour makes in hard to articulate the head (and jaws), I figured I could probably just grab it by the body, and it couldn't do much. So I did. As I took a closer look at the beetle in the light, marveling at it's interesting features (boy those were some fearsome looking jaws), I noticed that it had a few dozen tiny coppery coloured mites on it; this poor beetle was infested with some sort of parasite. But even the mites were interesting to me, for they did have a brilliant coppery colour, and it contrasted nicely with the beetle's own metallic sheen. So, I go running up stairs, saying, "Honey, come take a look at this." She's very used to me doing this sort of thing, sighs, and says, "Yes, let me see it." So I show her the beetle, shine the bright light on it, and just say, "Look closely, what do you see?" She does... And then practically jumps, and starts squealing, "Oooo! Oooo! Put it outside! PUT it OUTSIDE!!" And as I do so, she goes back to what she was doing in the kitchen, muttering, "Oh my God! Oh my God!" 8O

I confess, I was really just trying to show her the coppery coloured mites. :?

Good fortune,

- Icarus the Wife-Freaker-Outter

It's astonishing, yes, I know. I confess, I'm entirely open to the possibility that she's entirely a figment of my diseased imagination. (Ever see/read "A Beautiful Mind"?)

But, I confess... I often think you all are figments of my imagination too. (Especially RainSong).

Good fortune,

I confess I could die happy.

Well, minus the dying part. 8)

Also, that I'm going to bed early.

Oh, and that I dreamt that I was on the WP forums. I've never dreamt about the internet before. At least it didn't blend with my recurring Nazis and/or Nukes theme.

I confess I also think some insects are absolutely beautiful, especially beetles or praying mantises. Their articulations are so complex and their color is amazing. When I try to explain this to friends, they usually go "Ewwww!"

I confess... When I got married, I swear I didn't know I wasn't supposed to! Been married for just over 15 years; "split up" at least 3 times in that period; known what AS is for about 2 years; felt I've been utterly and completely alien in this ridiculous world for ~34 years; in fact, I still do, but you all (WP residents) are making me take a second look at this.

I confess that one of my best friends (someone I work with, and one of the few people who I'm friends with who I genuinely consider to be "smarter" than myself) is a guy who is happily "married" to... another guy. He's happy, successful, and acknowledged. It happens, from time to time. Hmmm, not sure why this made me think of you; just a random thought.

Don't be so quick to let yourself be swept under the rug.

Good fortune,

- Icarus the Inexorable

Hail, brother!

I confess, I'm kinda sorta planning to retire to Iceland, and become Iceland's preeminent entomologist.

I confess, I'm completely serious about this.

Good fortune,

I thought RainSong was a dream, but in the end [of the beginning], I realized that she was reality.

I confess that there exists figments of my imagination that are far sicker in a much more creative way than what I know so far of you.

I confess, you're the only reason that I believe RainSong is almost certainly not a figment of my imagination. I retract what I said before, which was more of a matter of jest to a friend than anthing else.

But the rest of you are still likely candidates for being imagined, as far as I can tell. ESPECIALLY Kilroy!

I confess, I believe this is true... Quite utterly.

Good fortune,
