Thanks for that Ezzy. :D

How many days until your birthday?

Could we have a double celebration with Kip seeing as you both have an important age coming up?

I'm not sure where my brain was at with that, my birthday isn't until august 20th. So the time of the month is close, but not the month itself.

19 species by the river this morning (and I found the Cedar Waxwings' nest).

Time to go to sleep.

When I used to go girl-watching, I used to always see at least 19 species of girls....all delightful!

I am confused on the concept of ego, the definition of ego according to google is a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance. However, isn't a good sense of self-esteem a good thing? Having low self-esteem is bad right? So is it bad to have an ego? Generally speaking, it is which I suppose could make sense if your self-importance is elevated due to narcissism. But where is the exact line between having a healthy self-esteem and full blown narcissism?

Ego is your sense of self.
It is how you make yourself unique and separate from everyone else in the world, by identifying as you.

The danger is that you can make yourself too unique.
This happens in one of 2 ways:

1. I'm awesome and the rest of you all suck, therefore I deserve special treatment

Or

2. I suck and the rest of you are all awesome, therefore I deserve special treatment.

It's funny about "ego."

It seems as if Freud thought that "ego" was the "compromise" between the overly logical "superego" and the overly animalistic "id."

You would think severely depressed people would have no ego, but they are often the ones most strongly identified with self.
