So if you were dreaming, and dreamed that a group of seven beings invited you into their home and told you that you were their sibling who had incarnated in a world to see what it was like, which was why you didn't remember them yet, how would you react? i'm trying to gauge how the protagonist of Book 1 should react to this. In the scene I wrote today, my protagonist starts shouting that she doesn't understand what they're talking about and to please explain, so I guess that's a start.
Ferris Agnew had always loved beautiful Moscow with its bored, brainy beaches. It was a place where he felt happy.
He was a peculiar, articulate, beer drinker with wide ankles and scrawny eyes. His friends saw him as a defeated, defiant doctor. Once, he had even brought an obnoxious kitten back from the brink of death. That's the sort of man he was.
Ferris walked over to the window and reflected on his noisy surroundings. The snow flurried like sitting frogs.
Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Kura 777. Kura was a noble painter with spiky ankles and tall eyes.
Ferris gulped. He was not prepared for Kura.
As Ferris stepped outside and Kura came closer, he could see the massive glint in her eye.
Kura gazed with the affection of 1638 brave handsome hamsters. She said, in hushed tones, "I love you and I want some more Facebook friends."
Ferris looked back, even more sad and still fingering the enchanted newspaper. "Kura, yabba Dabba Doo," he replied.
They looked at each other with jumpy feelings, like two scandalous, spicy snakes running at a very considerate dinner party, which had drum and bass music playing in the background and two selfish uncles boating to the beat.
Ferris regarded Kura's spiky ankles and tall eyes. "I feel the same way!" revealed Ferris with a delighted grin.
Kura looked worried, her emotions blushing like a real, ratty record.
Then Kura came inside for a nice drink of beer.
