Syllogisms ... I know, right?! They're the worst. They alone would keep me from ever pursuing Law School.

Have you read Tuesdays with Morrie? (Korts)

Never even heard of it (that’s probably pitiful lol)

Do you find a reliance on logic could stifle creativity?

I'm not a logical person because of my synaesthesia (I think in dimensions, by sensory awareness), but it does sound stifling to be very logical. Perhaps that's a stereotype but I wouldn't know otherwise.

same q

PS Tuesdays is great. A mentor / student life lesson book.

I was always the type that didn’t like to feel like I was specifically one’s “student.”

Yes, I feel a reliance on logic can be stifling. There are occasions when logic doesn’t reflect common sense.

Nope. I went on a few dates with a woman who read Braille.

Are you good with sign language? (I’m not).

No, but I'd like to learn it.

What language would you like to learn?

Neurotypical .

Or, in the event I can't do that, I'd like to be better at French (I'm middling).

Sign Language? No. My non-verbal is really poor. I used to know the basic alphabet but that's all, and I could only "do" it, not interpret it.

I have a profoubly deaf son-in-law. I am completely at sea with sign language, should make an effort but haven’t. I have known another deaf person and found the extra layer of communication difficulty pretty much insurmountable.

How about communicatin w other ASD people IRL - do you find that easy?

We have 2 other Autistic ppl at my church. I haven’t ‘clicked’ with the teenage boy, but the other chap and I have great conversations! Really interesting conversations. His specialist area is historical stuff so I had a rave about Jane Eyre and he had a rave about the kings Charles I and II.

Same q still

The only people I know who are assessed with ASD or who fit the profile are children, and even that was many years ago.

I'm in a family of very dominant, uber-feminine NT women, and I have lots of cousins but they're spread all around the world. My father and his father were definitely somewhere on the spectrum but we didn't have a word for it during their lives, nor did I identify then.

That's fun about the history buff at your church. I miss church.

Do you have any of your old toys from childhood?

Aww now a bit of a sad face as I think of my toys that I no longer have. :( I had a bear called black bear and he wore out. There was a musical cat that you wound up that was called white cat. Really my sisters but I took it over. A doll called Miranda that was ruined almost straight away by someone cutting her hair and drawing on her face. (Not me) and.... I JUST REMEMBERED ....I do have something. A wooden jigsaw puzzle of Alice in Wonderland and a cardboard one of the Queen of Hearts. Both are in a sort of coconut husk container that I STOLE from my mother and refuse to give back. Ahhhh happy face now :)
