Hello Miss Climber,

What things make you feel good either when doing them or after you finish?

For example, the other day I went outside and pulled up some weeds which had been annoying me and which I had been avoiding. After the event I felt at least half an inch better.

Are you a list person? I also find having a list of things I need to do and being able to tick another tedious task off makes me feel better - I wonder if this would work for you?

When I can't rely on my brain to do the things I need to I revert to my own written instructions previously noted down for such occasions. For example, when I feel overwhelmed I have a few bullet points to guide me and help me to start a task and remind me how to do it. Like break it down into small pieces, or just make a small start instead of avoiding completely, do just 10 minutes each day etc.

Sometime I don't know if it is a motivation problem or a psychological block/defence, so instead of trying to understand I make a move/change/action. Doing something, anything, can sometimes help with these times of chaos or confusion.

Hope some of this is of help if not let me know and I will give you a task to do  (my housework)

I already do all of that

Yeah, I thought you might.

We have had some informative exchanges with others on here about executive functioning and how to get past it.

You are a creative lady, I suspect you will come up with something yourself.

I like to think we are all equally deserving of love and respect.

Humble peasant? You are king of your world are you not?

"Doing research" is a productive activity---unless it interferes with things like going to the bathroom and eating.

Good for you. I want to come to the zoo with you.

I am reluctantly going on a 6 wk course shortly. I did say I would leave if it was really boring or if I already had the knowledge being offered. I do intend to give it a go just in case it is useful and I could use it professionally too.

Hello Mr Kazans.
