The main protagonist of "War and Peace" was named Pierre. French was the language of the "sophisticates" in Russia up until the end of the Czarist period.

Do you, sometimes, feel like you're not really all that philosophical?

I read "War and Peace," which is about 1,400-1,500 pages long. It's not "deep" reading at all. It's an elaborate soap opera with many interesting and literary elements. About 100 pages, though, is devoted to the mechanics of the war machines of the Napoleonic Period (e.g., cannons, mortars, etc.). It's not an inaccessible work, though, for the most part.

"Anna Karenina" is of similar length.

Has anybody ever read a book of at least 500 pages in one day?

Middlemarch - 1 day
Jude the Obscure - about 12 hours
Fire escapes yes

What I'm looking forward to:

Getting serious with my leadership opportunities in Toastmasters and finally completing my Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award.

I don't think I'm really all that philosophical.

What kind of pet would you like (breed) that you have never had before? (For me, it would be an Abyssinian or Russian Blue cat).

Yes.

Do you think aspects of the arts should be done away with by certain persons?

No, I don't believe in censorship. I do believe some art is crap, though. People have a right to protest about the crap.

But I don't believe the authorities should prevent the crap from being exhibited.

Do you believe there is universal ethics?

I expect so both are very popular, although I've never really been a fan of either.

If you could go back in time where would you go and why?

That's super cool, I bet it would be fab to see.

I would go back to 1912 and see the Titanic before it set sail. I found it all so interesting, the movie was very romantic but also the actual story of Titanic I found really interesting. I would have loved to have seen the ship before it set sail, I bet at the time it was amaizng :)

What is your favourite animal?

Meerkat.

Are you more creative with your head (i.e. writing) or your hands (i.e. painting etc.)?
