Yeah I have done all my life, but it hasn't done any real farming for a long time. It was always really hard living on the farm because I was so OCD about dirt and during wet weather you always got dirty clothes and feet

I always hated that.
My parents ran the farm for a long time, I'm not sure how many years it was but to look at it now you can see it hasn't 'farmed' for decades. The old farmhouse I grew up in is very tottery and now unsafe to live in, behind it are the old stables and in the farmyard is where they kept the cows and also a few stone buildings which I think supplies and such were kept in. I'll have to get some pictures for you
The farm was making good money but I can't remember what year now (I'll have to ask my parents) but there was a breakout of Foot and Mouth disease and I think in less than a week or two it destoryed the dairy side of the farm because all the cows were destroyed

Afterward the barns and sheds were cleaned down several times and then new animals were brought in, but not as many as before, I don't think it ever got back to the way it was before.
The only animals on the farm now are horses. My parents buy them in young, usually ones that were mistreated, and clean them up and turn them in to really well loved horses and then they sell them on to someone who will look after them. It's a sort of retired job now as they're both retired.
I love horses. They are one of my favourite animals

Please do, I would love to see pics of it if you can find any!
I do remember hearing about an outbreak of foot and mouth in UK a while back. A lot of cattle was destroyed at the time and we saw pyres on the news. I don't remember when that was, and of course I don't know if it was the outbreak where your family lost its livestock. I found it upsetting (to put it mildly) that so many healthy animals were killed to make sure to stop it. I'm sorry your family, farm and animals had to endure that.
Your parents' retirement job sounds absolutely amazing!

I would love to do something like that!
My favorite animals are turtles (all turtles, including tortoises and terrapins), dogs and wolves. I've had 2 turtles and 2 dogs.
I forgot to say so earlier, but I do live in a country where we have a (too) small wolf population (Norway) but I have never seen or heard a wild wolf.
