Can you poop while squatting? I heard that Europeans and Americans can't do it. I once saw a video of a woman peeing in a sitting position with her back against a tree.

Squatting is the natural position for humans to poop. The reason many Europeans and American's lose the ability to squat (all children can do it) is because we wear shoes with heels and spent most of our lives sitting down. Both those things cause the calves and hamstrings to shorten, and our hip and ankle mobility to reduce. Asians tend not to do those things so much so they often retain the ability to squat into adulthood and old age.

Our sitting toilets are also part of the reason why people get piles (hemorrhoids). We're not supposed to poop in that position and it takes more effort.

Do Canadians call the Pope the Poop?
