^Yes, it's weird. Even I don't know what the Wayside really is.
What do you think so far, Raleigh? I can repost everything about Ani's story again in one big chunk if you'd like.

I meant what kind of world as in what does it look like?

I need to picture the environment otherwise Ani is just floating in space to me : forest, plains, underground, wasteland, futuristic, medieval?

It's mainly meadows, rivers, forests, lakes, and enchanted streams of life and magic. A lot of it is also backwards, and if you jump in puddles, you randomly ripple around.

How old is she?
Why does she have personas? When you say personas it kind of reminds me of the movie 'Inside Out'.
How was she grown/created?
What does she do? Does she have a special purpose for her powers?
Why is she dying?

I have no idea how old Ani is. I don't think the Wayside is the type of place that has any notion of time.
Every Xenian has Personas that guide them and raise them.
It's impossible to say whether Ani was born first or her Personas were born first. Maybe they were all born simultaneously. I have the notion that the Xenians are born from a river of some kind.
I have no idea yet! Maybe Ani uses her powers to explore the Wayside?
Well, she's dying because she's reached the end of her life, and before she enters the river/well/crystalis of rebirth, she reflects on her life.
