Neither Mistress nor Mister indicated marital status initially, that development occurred during the 1800s.

Once Mrs. came to be associated with marriage, a new honorific was needed for unmarried adult women.

It all seems a little old timey and irrelevant these days, methinks.

I always thought that instead of this Ms thing they could have had handles for married and unmarried men as well. All they really needed to do was to re-define Mr as being married and call unmarried men Mst (Master). My dentist used to put Mst on the cards he sent out for appointments if the patient was under 18. I never took to this Ms thing, I thought it was too modern and artificial. Not that I've ever been called upon to use it. I don't really bother much with honorifics, I just use forenames. I don't even know the surnames of a lot of my friends. They're only useful if I'm trying to distinguish between Fred Smith and Fred Jones.

Our power blipped out yesterday. It came back on after a few seconds but not before I thought it was permanent. I had to reset the clock on the microwave, and the internet router was out till it had rebooted itself. I get annoyed by shocks like that.

There's a good chance that I'm having mild side effect on iron pills.

Because I took one 75mg dosage in 4-5 days in a row, instead of every other day or so.

If I look back at my younger days, I'd disregard any potential side effects.
Dismiss it as just another female thing. Like everyone else will.

I go by Ms. I don’t always get great results with that around here, but that’s what I prefer. Well, I really prefer being called by my first name. I even wanted my students to use my first name when I was a teacher. However, my school wouldn’t go for that.

Grateful for friendship. Sharing an interest, and enthusiasm being reflected back. :D
