The meaning given by that site was not one of the common ones of it.

My mother yanked my name out of an obscure Bible reference, the Bible being her lifelong special interest.

My name is Jolly and it means happy :D

Everytime I introduce myself and say "Hi,I'm Jolly" people got confused and would ask me "Why are you jolly?anything great happened?" then I'll be explaining that my real name is Jolly :)

I love my name though cuz it's the opposite of my personality :P

First and last together? OK, God has sent the lion. Or God has sent the field. Depends on which last name :D

anybody who uses anyone's name is wanting their attention.

like as in "hey --name--". it is supposed to be an attention grabbing directive toward someone if you use their name.

i never call anyone by name if i can help it. for example, there is an "alan" who is the regional sales manager, and when i refer to him, i always say eg: "i think you should show that to the regional sales manager".
i never say "i think you should show alan".

there are many names at my office. i use none of them if i can help it.
i do not want to attract their attention otherwise i may have to be rude and tell them that i am not interested in talking to them at that time.

when someone says "hey mark" in my vicinity and there are no other "marks" around, then i realize they are trying to get my attention.

really sorry.

Pertaining to the meaning of my real name? Well, I hardly see any particular meaning to it unless, how often I hear jokes about it and how someone must have screwed up big time.. I say nothing further..

Incidentally I recently learned that my last name is derived from a place name which means "wide place where oak trees grow."

I'm neither ashamed or afraid to state my first name means the following--

Adam-- Man of red earth-just not the one whom ate the apple and condemned all people to such a terrible fate.. my middle name-Brent-- means one whom climbs or something along those lines..

My first name means "man" or "person".

My last name is the German word for "Mutton".

I guess I had an ancestor in Mideaval Germany who butchered sheep.

My middle name is "wesley"- after the guy who founded the Methodist church.

What his name actually "means" I dont know. I oughtta look it up in one of those
baby name books at the checkout stand sometime.

So I guess my name means "manly methodist mutton".

My girl cousin complained that her mom's maiden name was "Krumb"- which makes her
a "mutton crumb".

Looked there, Googled for places to find meanings of names and looked in several of them.
Averaging the results, I seem to be a wanderer who lives in or near the woods of Scotland.
