1. Always read everyone's responses and make sure you aren't posting in the middle of or after a really crazy argument
2. Be careful not to take everything really literally

Would you say that this is a good or bad thing? I'm just interested in the way people act so when I come across such people on the internet or in real life I find it interesting. I'm curious as to whether or not you would've preferred to remain "ignorant" to such people who do hide their hatred in a situation where negative consequences limit them.

That's a good question. Personally yes it would be great if that person did not have any hate in the first place. But as this is reality we are speaking of, well that's just not possible. And to be honest yes I would rather that person keep his hatred to himself. Why? Firstly I hope that because I am unaware of his hatred it won't bring about any prejudices in me, towards him/her. A normal human reaction to someone who hates me for whatever reason and shows it, is to react in a negative way back. I might not behave in the same way that person did to me, but it is more than likely that I would feel some negativity towards that person, which keeps the cycle of hatred going and thus prohibits understanding. Firstly let me point out that I am not against people having different opinions, but if you disagree then do so in a cordial and productive way. The need to ridicule and use harsh names and terms only keeps people more divided.

In the end one could ask the question "is it better for that person to show me his/her true colours or for them to hide them from me?". Personally, I would rather that person hide it. For it shows some level of control and that a person is not going to always act out on those feelings. For maybe the first step is to slander someone one day, and to shoot someone the next.

1. What you don't say can and will be used against you.

2. Some question marks are questionable, but don't dare ask.

3. The ironic and convenient dexterity of the left and right clique.

4. At some point in time or another, we all have the same differences.

5. Some people I agree with 98% of the time, but the 2% outweighs it all.

Very well put. I would have to agree with what you said; control over your feelings is a part of personality and "showing one's true colors" could be seen as not just how one's feelings really are, but in the way (s)he expresses and manages them. There are more dimensions to it than just acting on whatever feeling you have, which for one person could be their "true colors", but not necessarily for someone else.

Another thing I learned on here is I still have difficulty knowing where the gray areas are when it comes to rules and I still have difficulty figuring out the rules when they aren't black and white.

I guess the same could be said for me. I would always tell on every little thing kids did wrong during school time.

Even though I've never done such a thing, I've learned, it's a bad idea to attack a person, about their special interests, on the boards, or in a private message. I've never thought of doing such a thing, though.

When playing a certain game in the Games Forum, only to post a song title, if I know, which group or artist sings it. Otherwise, to stick with what I know.

For example,

Put A Little Song In Your Heart - Various, is really

Put A Little Love In Your Heart- Jackie DeShannon

God, I feel stupid.

It was the opposite for me. I thought it was okay to do or else they would have gotten into trouble if it wasn't. So I thought the rules had changed. I struggled with this when I was a kid and I was being discriminated and at age ten, I started to fight it. I rebelled. I did the same on here back in 2007. It was okay for others to talk about their fetishes but I was being discriminated for mine so I also rebelled. So that was how I learned discrimination happens in our community too from our own kind.

But I have gotten better now and have figured out people are just breaking the rules and getting away with it, it doesn't mean the rules have changed. Like if I see someone run through a red light and didn't get pulled over, he just broke a rule and was lucky there was no cop around to see it. It doesn't mean the state had changed their driving laws.

But however if mods or bosses or teachers or anyone allow things off and on like they allow name calling but then they don't allow it, it makes it confusing for me. Like I would see, "okay so it's okay to call someone stupid but you can't call them dumb, got it." But I am not going to know what other list of names you are not allowed to call people. I will only be learning what list of names isn't allowed after I see a person get punished for that name calling.

That's what I was basically doing on here, that sort of thing, and I get accused of I kept on breaking the same rules here over and over by two former mods. I dunno if the rest think the same but thanks to them, I realized I still have this difficulty and even a few other banned members have said they expect us to read their minds. Perhaps they also felt the same way too. But I did follow the rules. Have I broken any before? Oh yes and I stopped because I learn to not do that again.

Hi, CockneyRebel. I was the one who posted the Jackie Shannon song. I didn't think you were stupid at ALL- I just thought there was another song with a similar title and I didn't give it a second thought. Lots of song titles sound almost the same. Anyway, it's just a game, not a test, so what does it matter if a title isn't perfectly correct? I bet I've got some song titles wrong in the past, too.

Oh, and congratulations on passing the 40 000 mark with your posts! :salut: Jenny

i do not know what you said to me on may 19.
if you can provide a link then i will see what you mean, but i am not interested really.

just go forth and say what you will without reference to whatever you said to me because i really have not one neuron engaged in memories of things that did not matter to me.

stay safe and state your impulse.

anyway i have one more thing to say in this thread about what i have learned here.

i have learned that there is no place to build my "sandcastles" of ideas and statements.

if i post (build a sand castle) too close to where the waves of attention by other members crash in, then my thoughts will be washed away and relegated to the pages of unread and buried history before they are noticed by someone who thought they were valid
.
if i post in dry and uninhabited areas, then my thoughts will wither in the thoughtless dessicated dunes of inattention and crumble and blow away in the winds of inattention.
and so la de da de doo.
i really could not care less.

I really like your metaphors b9. They are refreshing.
