Thank you for posting that. I really enjoyed it. It's a shame you couldn't get a bit better focus, but that's alright.
Living in a metropolitan area, I don't get a chance to see anything like that without going way out of my way. Of course the birds you have in Australia are all completely different than what we have here, so they seem very exotic.
If I look out my kitchen window, I usually see a few birds out on a grassy area. One of my favorites is:
the black phoebe because of their playful antics.
I think my absolute favorite local bird is the
the Brown Pelican. There is an area about a mile from my house where they fly back and forth at certain times of the year. They are kind of funny looking, but incredibly graceful in the air. They'll hover in midair while preparing for a dive, and then dive straight down to catch a fish. When they come next winter, I think I'll try to get some good pictures or video, although it always is best in person.
