I have nothing against the Roma; it's the chavs who make trouble for others and then claim discrimination for being 'gypsies' when they get caught. They seem to think that just claiming to be a 'gypsy' makes them one.
We have people here in the states who cause the same kinds of trouble, and then claim discrimination for being Native Americans ... blond-haired, blue-eyed Native Americans who seem to think that just claiming to be a Native American makes them one..
It wouldn't surprise me to hear of an NT troublemaker who assaults someone, and then claims to be discriminated against for being an Aspie, as if a self-diagnosis as an Aspie makes them one.
These are the people that give bad reputations to gypsies, Native Americans, Aspies, and others.
