If wikipedia is to be believed, Karlskoga is the site of a Bofors manufacturing plant, and they are the company that makes the rifle.

They mostly make cannons and tanks nowadays but they used to make rifles as well. They have the largest cannon, ammunition and explosives factory in Sweden. 8)

Have you ever been there?

(On an unrelated note, this is the first time that my knowledge of European monarchs has been useful. Ever. :( )

I just drove by. Its a small town with about 35000 people. But I don't think the public is allowed to come and look at the factory other than on special occasions.

Was there a royal connection with Carl Gustav Von Rosen, who took on a modern military power with a home made air force during the Biafran war? I understand he held some title.

That was one cool swede.

Carl Gustav von Rosen was a count, but I don't know if he was related to the royal family. Carl and Gustav were and are very common Swedish names and many men were named with one or both, royals and nobless as well as "ordinary people".

I don't know, but he was Herman Goring's nephew-in-law.

King Christian X of Denmark put on an excellent performance during world war two. Do scandinavian royalty regularly do stuff this cool, is it like a tradition or something? Maybe being an aspie ain't so bad after all. It's getting pretty clear that everybody in scandinavia is an aspie. Don't know about the Laplanders. Internet access might bias the data, or do the lapps have laptops?

I think most lapps have computer access these days, one way or the other.

Yes, at least in the past our kings used to be pretty cool. The king that conquered my home province from Norway was actually one of the first marijuana smokers in Sweden, probably the first one. Another king ate himself to death on cray fish and filled buns. Charles XII of Sweden was killed by a bullet through his head when he was trying to conquer Norway. He was embalmed in my home town. 8)

They're not really sure if she was lesbian but she abdicated, converted to catholisism and moved to live the rest of her life in Rome.

Yeah, I saw that in "The Abdication", and in Greta Garbo's "Queen Christina"

Greta Garbo is great as Christina but the film isn't 100% historically correct so to speak.
