My number one is honestly the chicken or its wild pendant the red junglefowl.

But I also very much love muscovy ducks:

Probably one of the eagles. Up close they're magnificent.

Last Spring I spent a lot of time watching the Decorah eagles live web cam, watched one of the eggs hatch live and continued watching til the three chicks fledged. They grow incredibly fast. The web cam is right on the edge of the nest and has sound, you can actually hear the flesh tearing when the adults pull pieces of meat off the fish they catch to feed the eaglets. I loved watching it. The female would get tired and need a break and make this particular call again and again. After a while she would get an answering call and the male would come and sit on the chicks while she went off for a little break.

This should be the theme song for all birds, or angrybirds

i like kookaburras the most. i hat 8 pet kookaburas before the government took my house away.
they are not the smartest birds, but they are definitely trusting and they have personalities.

my voice is only designed for their ears, and i never thought i would be posting this on a site of sophisticated talkers, but whatever. i do not care if i sound stupid to you all. i do not sound stupid to them. they love my voice.

general kookaburras behavior,

That's really cute, b9. They know exactly who you are!
Did you hand-rear them from chicks or did you just gain their confidence?

I'm glad you posted those b9. I have visited your YouTube page and I have enjoyed your animal videos very much. I like the one where you get the parrot (or maybe it was a cockatoo) with the supersoaker water gun and the stand-off between the two young kookaburras.I'm sorry you lost that house.

Can't really decide between the African Grey or the Cockatoo. Cockatoos certainly look more amusing.

I don't know that it's my favorite, but I was always fond of magpies. I knew the name magpie years before I'd ever seen one. When I did them, I found them beautiful for years before I learned their name.
