That a lot of people here have some very pretty cats

Most of my interests are not that unusual for AS people.

In my short time here, I have learned that:

1. Not everyone feels the need to be a part of a clique, or be of a higher social rank than everyone else to feel better about themselves.

2. I can feel a comfortable about being me instead of having to put up a front and hide because of my oddness.

3. I’m not as odd as I had previously thought. There are other people who behave in the same manner I do.

there is not much difference between aspies and NT's then I thought

What I have learned, well, Aspies are a strange lot.

Aspies love cats
There is always someone in the world with bigger problems than you
That I belong to this place
The meaning of echolalia, palilalia and prosopagnosia
That I have echolalia, palilalia and prosopagnosia
Aspies can be random

That the beginning of this thread contains, of all things, garlic and it will end the world.

That there's more to being autistic than what I've been told by those around me, and that I should accept all of myself as a person, instead of only the qualities that NTs find acceptable.

That there's actually a place where being myself is totally acceptable, and people here can relate to what I say, because they've gone through similar things themselves.

How much autistics are hated by some ignorant people out there.

That I am even weirder than I thought.

Oh well...

Things I've learned from Wrong Planet:

1. Merely taking a stand will provide others with sufficient reason to insult you.
   
2. Disagreeing with someone is a hostile act.
   
3. Pointing out the truth is an act of rudeness.
   
4. Some people will believe in anything.
   
5. Some people will refute everything.
   
6. One person's honest, open discssion is another person's harrassment.
   
7. Most people need to become less sensitive and get themselves a worthwhile life.

Things I've learned :-

That Aspies are generally more accepting of other people's weirdness

That most Aspies have a sense of humour and can empathise

That Aspies are probably stranger but also nicer than I think most NT's would suspect

That this is the only place in the world I know where I can worship peacocks in peace
and no-one thinks that's strange

After all these years....closets are still fun....

of it, i live in redneck territories

1) Aspies are the archetype for Vulcans. (Treckies will see that)
2) If you think you know the "truth" you're lying to yourself. (and will make a lot of people mad)
3) Once you are diagnosed with any behavioral thing you see it everywhere. (and when I say “you” I mean me). There is a great variance between "normal" and AS. I am starting to think half the people I work with are on the spectrum…so are their kids.
