I agree with what some have said about Autistic nature. That it tends to work against the formation of In-crowds. But I also see what has been said about the formation of sub-groups (cliques). That they do form here. Though they also go thru cycles as people move in and out. I think it mainly has to do with finding out the ones you feel most comfortable talking or joking with

That said, you do see certain members getting more frequent responses, they are popular for whatever reason. But you don't necessarily see those together in one group here. They don't gravitate together. I think Autistics may be too independent minded for that sort of group thinking.

Ya'll have heard me talk about my best friend the ex meth head. Well, back when she was on that s**t, and I would hang out with her, that picture sums up completely the way we hung out. One of us would be on the laptop and the other would be on the hand held. We could spend hours talking, five feet from each other, and not say a word.

well I defiantly do not think is me

when they say in crowd on wp its not the same in-crowd that exudes people its more like the people who are most well known well recognized and contribute the most on forums.

I've been here a long time and I'm in no "in crowd". I can count my friends here on one hand. Nor am I in a crowd anywhere else.

In general (and I'm stating this as something I've observed universally not just on WP) people cry "in crowd" or "cliques" in order to try and transfer the blame for their own social inability or dislikeable personality quirks. If they don't fall into the group they claim the group is closed off or exclusive rather than admit that the social problem is on their end. Of course we have to be understanding of people here and realise not everyone has the social ability to make and maintain a lot of friends (me included).

You can't just post stuff and expect friends to happen, you have to make them. That's true here even in the most supportive environment.

There are people who like to argue with each other.

This.

Individuals bond with others here, but they dont actively exclude. So we dont have true cliques.

Folks also complain about 'bandwagonism", and that folks "gang up" on them, which I also never observed either. The folks who complain about that are just casting themselves out to be martyrs.

There may be many unilateral in-crowds of single individuals though.

Unless there is a secret society of turners here I am unaware of, I am not in this in-crowd.

So Smudge, I am not saying there is an in-crowd mind you, but just for arguments sake, if there was said crowd, and say someone knew the names of the members of said crowd... What do you think such information would be worth? Say in equivalent information. Hypothetically of course. Such information would not be wise to publish openly of course, as the publisher might come in for some backlash. But it might, if someone possessed the knowledge, and I am not saying someone does, be passed in secret or cypher perhaps.

What if they run WP and the mods are just their puppets 8O But THEY wouldn't want us to know that. So they stay in the shadows, content with being the power behind the throne, where they can stretch their legs while moderators cut themselves on a throne made with the swords of all defeated trolls and spammers and god I am really obsessed with song of ice and fire lol.
