I see it as blue and black too. My teacher put the picture up on the overhead, and people were saying, "It's gold and white", and I didn't know what they were talking about, because to me it was clearly blue and black. I can kinda see how the black part could look gold, but not how the blue part could look white.
I see white and gold. I can sort of see how the white part could look blue, but I don't see how the gold part could look black...I think it's kind of fun to read about what other people see

Here is a link to the BBC article and a photograph of the dress taken under normal everyday lighting conditions. Under these conditions the sky is also seen as mainly blue like the dress, rather than gold

Here is the dress with a black bar down it for those who don't know what black looks like:
The image that Ezra posted looks closer to black but still like a very brown-ish black.

The whole interweb is bamboozled by one little gamma shift...

It also depends on what angle you view it from.Looking at the above from the side, the black line becomes greenish-blue and the greyish-black of the dress becomes totally black.

Lots of people's brains can't into filtering out the sunlight.
Whilst it's not perfectly black insofar as paintbrush goes (reality isn't that perfect), it's clearly black fabric, just with sunlight shining on and through it (stronger at the top, and pretty much non-existent on the two bottom stripes in comparison to the uppermost band, for example).

Logical fallacy. The question require accepting this is a dress. It's not, it's an image of a dress processed by camera and associated software. The "black" part has RGB values 128, 110, 70. Thats on a scale of 0 to 255. Doesnt sound like black to me. If there is more red and green than blue, it's brown, yellow, orange, gold etc. How can it be a good thing to see black with 128 red and 110 green? People who see black must be reversing the color manipulation done to the image.
