I have known heroes in the traditional meaning. They never call themselves that and they never bring attention to themselves. That old, "It's what anybody would have done."

The characters that I discover when writing stories or poetry are like parts of myself, especially the main protagonists.

Well, yeah...having been involved with story telling in publishing, those are the best characters. They're a real part and therefore not wholly invented. Embellished maybe, but not complete fabrication.

That is an expectation of perfect that cannot exist in the real world. I think that's why I have trouble with so many things. Reality does not equate the same for everybody.

And, physics have proven that there is a fluidity to reality at its most basic levels. Time differentiates things. If they've found gravitational waves, then that means that things like length and width are even fluid based on what area of space you inhabit.

'Real' is personally subjective.

Of course it is. Again, physics is proposing the 'holographic' principle that says we are actually a 'projection' on a surface of some sort. Perception is everything.
