The Mandela Effect
OMG!! I'M GOING INSANE!
I put this video up for the Looney Toons at the beginning, but you need to watch this film! It shows a map of Italy with the tip of the boot kicking Sicily! That's not right! Is it? I remember playing Diplomacy and I was Italy, but I don't remember the boot kicking anything. Am I going mad?

Darn, I flunked.
Thats what I said. New Zealand is a smaller country that overlaps in latitude with Australia but extends closer to the Pole (ie farther South).
Actually I think what it is is that folks probably confuse "New Zealand" with "New Guinea". The later is directly "above" Australia right on the Equator.
The boot of Italy always almost touched Sicily.

The front of the "foot" part of the Boot of Italy comes very, very close to Sicily (which is, of course, a part of Italy)--though they don't touch.
It LOOKS like Italy could be kicking Sicily LOL
But it isn't. Sicily is an Island. The Boot of Italy is part of the European mainland.

Oh, thank goodness. I keep second guessing myself. I'm going to go exercise and get away from all of this crap.

Yeah I always thought of Sicily as "Italy's football" (just like Florida is America's dong).
Patton, and Montgomery depended upon that fact to use Sicily as the stepping stone for the allied Armies fighting their way up from North Africa (as anyone who saw the movie "Patton" knows).
And the passage in Isaiah is actually:
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;and a little child shall lead them.
The passage lists several pairs of predator and prey animals. Not just one pair. Lions do appear in it. Only a minority of folks actually directly read the Bible. And those few will naturally consolidate that passage down to "lion will lie with the lamb" because that's the ghist of it. The rest of us hear it said that way and assume that its a direct quote and will pass that condensed version on. So the condensed version takes on a life of its own.
Forrest's dying mother is one that said )when he asked his destiny) that Life IS like a box of chocolates.
And that is what all the promo material and trailers had with his picture and voice.
In the release though, when the nurse sat next to him offered the box and said "Momma said Life WAS .
But a couple of their examples are provably incorrect

I know what the Bible entry says...NOW, because we are in the Twilight Zone. But it was not that way for me growing up. And how do you know America isn't a girl?

But I read that passage in the yellowed pages of THE Bible that Grandma gave me for Xmas in 1969. So it predated our switching tracks into the Twilight Zone.
OH YEAH...I forgot. That wouldnt make any difference. When we went into this parallel Universe the printed text from before would still change...I suppose.
How do I know about America?
Because you can see that America has a dong! How can you miss Florida on the map?
But if it makes you feel better France has a "Brest". Lol!

I think you're giving America too much credit. Maybe we just have an incredibly sagging boob - besides the one in the White House!!

During your growing up back in the day did you ever actually read that passage of Isaiah in the Bible with your own eyes?
Or are you just remembering what preachers, Sunday school teachers, and everyone else in your life just said that it said?
My point is that what the Bible says now is the same darn thing that it said during your growing up, and what you are remembering is how folks always paraphrased it to say. Its like everyone thinks that Cagney said "oooh...you rat. You dirty rat" in the movies, though he never uttered that exact phrase.

I'm Catholic. I was just brought up with it in the gospels - I'm not a great Bible reader like I should be. If it was a wolf instead of a lion, I can't see why they wouldn't have just said a wolf. That makes no sense.
Cagney really didn't say that dirty rat thing?

Thats what I have heard ever since the Seventies.
When I was a kid in the Sixties every stand up comic on TV would do 1930's Cagney, and would do that line.
In the Seventies I heard somewhere that Cagney never actually uttered that exact line in any movie. Around that time I also read in Reader's Digest that "in none of X number of novels, nor Y number of short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle did Sherlock Holmes ever utter the line "elementary my dear Watson". And I remember having whole conversations with mom about both facts. She was incredulous, but I would shrug and said "thats what the experts say". She finnally accepted it, but got flustered and would say "but 'dirty rat' is the essence of what his characters would have said gosh darn it, and 'elementary' is the essence of what Sherlock Holmes was always saying". I would just think to myself "Whatever".
But now a generation later theyre telling us that Kirk never said "beam me up, Scotty". There was even a street drug in the 80's called "Beam Me Scotty" , and it inspired a Go-Go song of that name. Cagney belongs to my parents' generation, but Captian Kirk is my own generation. So thats more of a surprise.
About the Bible: it doesnt actually say that "the wolf will lie down with the lamb" either. Its says that the wolf will "dwell with the lamb", and then it goes into a lot of excess verbiage pairing predator animals with prey animals ( and it does mention big cats).
I dont blame folks for pairing the verse down to its essence and giving it more punch by cutting the excess middle crap out, and just telling you that the Bible says "the lion will lie down with the lamb" because that conveys the essence of it with velocity.
If you actually remember picking up the King James and actually remember reading the actual verse in Isaiah yourself when you were a child decades ago (not just hearing a priest in a sermon paraphrase it, but actually read it yourself) and remember that it said sumpin different than what it says now then you might be on to something.
And keep in mind that there are whole verses in the Bible that are....NOT in the Bible, but folks THINK they are in the Bible.
For example we all "know" that men are not allowed to masturbate because the Bible says "its better to cast your seed into the belly of whore than to cast it upon the ground". The trouble is that the Bible never actually says that - anywhere - in either Testament. Its not in the Bible. But everyone thinks it is!
