You're looking to adopt a baby?
I wanted to clone my friend CRON and sell them as pets
well at least to make a webpage about it, sunnyvale human cloning.
we had to shut down cuz too many pets were getting abused.
Please don't bring her back. I've only just got over the news coverage of masses of hysterical women screeching that "she was like a sister to me". If we're going to bring someone back then at least make them interesting, like Alexander the Great, one of the Pharaohs etc. On AtG apparently he smelled amazing, so bringing him back would be fascinating to see if it was true.

I was offering the idea of adopting as the less creepy thing to be interested in. Human clones would be people with all the same rights as other people so talking about cloning people to keep as sex slaves is kinda cringe.

So make them slightly "less than human" -- custom-made Androids and Gynoids.
• Incapable of reproduction.
• Full mental and physical maturity in 3-5 years.
• 17-year lifespans.
• Non human skin colors (i.e., Magenta, green, et cetera) to distinguish them from real humans.
• Non-human hair colors (same).
• Fully indoctrinated with, and obedient to Asimov's Laws.
• Specialized types (i.e., laborer, butler/maid, gigolo/mistress, et cetera).

Umm, hard no. Engineer them to be more suitable as slaves is definitely going the wrong direction. It just sounds like I want a helpless, agency-less pet I can f**k.

this whole subject of "bringing back diana" is incredibly, devastatingly poignant.
she may not have been a protean mega-brain like Einstein or a determined noble heart like Schweitzer, she certainly was no mother Teresa in terms of her devotion to the low-born. she could have been like the rest of the royal family and just did ribbon cuttings and other ceremonies like what was nominally expected of somebody of her station, but she chose to put herself out there and be an attention-getter for things that weren't exactly fashionable at the time. this alone puts her IMHO in the top rank of humans in terms of their humanity. somebody like madonna could have done the same noble things but she just chose to ostentatiously rut and party and self-aggrandize herself in the most vulgar manner possible, she had the star power to turn people's hearts if she wanted to but she did not. Diana DID. so that is my statement in rudimentary defense of Diana, not saying she should or even could be cloned as the person she was. she lived in the metaphysical fabric of her space/time, she was a person of her space/time, and that space-time is permanently past and can't be re-established. without that space-time existing in the present, the miracle of cloning couldn't even be intelligently considered. the same kind of thing could be said of anybody at all from the past.

Whoever perfects the technology will have a fortune that puts the entire population of "0.01-percenters" to shame.
Exactly nothing to do with the subject.
If what you're describing does become reality in the future it still wouldnt be what the OP is talking about. Which is "bringing back deceased person X". Clones of your mamma, or Lady Spencer, or Stephan Hawkings, or your dog rover, are biological xerox copies of the individual. Not that the actual individual brought back to life.
This.
It is poignant.
I sympathize with the OP. Its like wanting to bring back your mama (except with your mama, you yourself, and your siblings are already naturally occurring semi clones of your departed parent). But even if human cloning were possible in the present day (its all too likely to be possible in the future) cloning is still not 'bringing the person back'.
I dont know if anyone here is actually "attacking Dianna" though.

Of course there is absolutely no way that a clone of Diana or Stephan Hawking is going to be the same person as their deceased donor. If you were to somehow clone Hitler (e.g. Boys from Brazil) there is almost zero chance he will grow up to be a nazi. What's missing is the environment (the nurture).
