My older cat I named Lucky. Because I adopted her one evening at the mall when the SPCA was there and had her there along with other cats, I thought the name was appropriate. She is a beautiful grey-and-white tabby.

But when she has gotten outside and I'm out trying to call her back in, I feel silly calling her name because I'm worried people will think I'm looking for the leprechaun, and I'm after his Lucky Charms. And of course Lucky was the name of the cat Alf kept trying to eat, and one time when I had to pick her up from the vet after she was spayed I had to try not to say "I came to get Lucky".

Also the SPCA thought she was a male, but soon after I brought Lucky home I realized she was female. That's okay since Lucky can be a unisex name, but I guess they don't look *really* close at every single cat at their shelter.

I had a Dobie named Zeke once. I went camping one time with him, and one morning I was calling for him because he wandered off. Turns out that there was a guy camping there who was named Zeke. It was embarrassing at first, but afterwards we had a beer and laughed about it.
