Is that close?
Nope, it's right on.

Cool. Sorry about the troubles though.

It's okay. I've gotten over them. God rescued, and rebuilt me inside.

Similarly I had a hard time when my dad died. I had considered becoming agnostic, but that wouldn't work since I saw my dad die in the living room for more than a minute, he was prayed over and came back to life (later died in the hospital that night with doctors around him.) But there was no way God could not exist, neurons don't repair themselves and he would have be brain dead then but he wasn't. Dad kept telling us not to worry and that all would be okay. As for any doubts I had about the Bible reading Josh McDowell, Dr. Jay L. Wile, Russell Humphreys, and a few other apologetic works cleared them up. (Secular books tend to show animosity toward God, which is amazing for them to hate Someone they claim doesn't exist; how logical and wise they claim to be!) I am a Christian because of the steps God lead me through and brought me out of depression and doubts. If it weren't for my dad coming back to life before he was at the hospital, I would probably be agnostic or worse.

Kilroy, if God tried to kill you, you'd be dead.

no because MY deities saved me
yours is just some prick who wants people to worship him blindly

there's a reason I am not a christian you kow, not because one day I woke up and said-hey I think I'll be wiccan
All Christianity did was destroy me-I am not happy but I am sure as hell not depressed!
And haven't been since I became wiccan
you beleive in your "God" but I won't beleive for a second he has any power over me
my deities don't in that sence-they can't come down and knife me
or smite me if I leave the faith
(where's God to smite me as he said he would in the bible lol)
I've broken 8/10 commandments...and life is better now that God is out of it
not everyone is meant to be christian

point is, if God could really smite people I'd be dead for being a witch-and I am not
I am more happy then I was being a christian

Thus the debate on election (some chosen and others not) and partial atonement (Jesus' sacrificial death was for those God eternally and omnisciently knew are His and not for everyone generally because some are not chosen.)

They are pirates, you should see me try to eat while they steal my food.

I can't say whether you are or not, all I can say is that your current course is off and by appearances and your input (that you valued your faith less than your emotions, false gods by Biblical definition, etc) you seem to have a low turn around probability, but so did my dad and God doesn't roll dice. You seem kinda like my friend Tannilynn Silverfox who rejected God because she was bored with memorizing verses and creeds and junk so she broke commandments and adopted Norse mythology as her religion. For all her claim of intelligence (IQ 145) she seems to have the idea that "God or "gods" can be picked at random." And you seem to think that God has no mercy or grace. I hope you 180, but as for now "no" would be my temporary answer but "I don't know" is my permanent answer.

Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, are OT books and they speak of God as being merciful as equally as the NT. As for the whole witchburning thing, that is a civil act. Sorcery, idolatry, bestiality, incest, murder, were not to be allowed, by the government. Does America seem like that kind of government? No.

beautiful bird-you have a good eye for birds I must say

I don't beleive one is stuck with a deity they don't beleive in...
false Gods?
do not dismiss my deities as false-how do you know yours isn't eh?
what makes you so damn right
God has no mercy or grace
he demands sacrifice and threatens death and torture in hell to all those who do not beleive
does that sound like mercy or love?
in my eyes it doesn't
if you can show me it is, I might give it another chance
but to me I mean more to myself then any deity
I live for myself-I am my own person, even the Horned God and Goddess don't ask me to sacrifice things or call me a sinner
your religion tells people what to do
mine lets them figure that out for themselves
if you'd like to have a big debate you may PM me (no I don't dislike you personally, this is just a debate) :)

Maybe I missed previous posts, because of the American government :?
But as you included idolatry, death was the punishment for it then, right?
