Quoting Sinsboldly:

Has anyone thought that maybe she wanted to have the baby? If you are in a family like that, forced into celebrity since a child, perhaps the only way she could find any way to assert herself was to become pregnant - knowing that things would irrevocably change. Perhaps this was her idea of 'escape.' She wouldn't be the first girl to think so.

Right on. That was certainly my MO when I got pregnant at 16, although perhaps it was operating from a subconscious level.

At least she's rich enough to support a child.

"Dang. We thought Jamie Lynn was the nice and normal one,"

Jamie Lynn Spears pregnancy poses parental dilemma
http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/ ... dChannel=0

BTW, if she's sixteen and already pregnant, it means she started earlier... 8O

"brittany's little sister is pregnant."

the world needs to stop worrying about these people.
they are human just like you and me.
they all make mistakes.
and mistakes shouldn't be there for the public to destroy and tear apart.

It was not my opinion and I quoted another 'celebrity' that was talking about it. Sorry that Mike Huckabee is not here to answer your very good question, though.

Oh I knew that, and it was a comment about that quote, not aimed to you :)

This isn't as shocking as most people think it is. Just look at Britney. You can't say that Jamie Lynn's had good role models in her life can you?

I've heard stories of kids around here getting pregnant as young as 11, so this story about Jamie Lynn being pregnant at 16, while I agree is too young and a very stupid thing to do, isn't worth the shock it's generating. As Beautifuloblivion said, at least she's rich enough to support her child, unlike many young mothers.
