Our family used to say "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", I only recently think I understand this in any way at all.

I asked mum for KFC and she said "but every man and his dog will be there" and I replied "why would they take their dog"?

That reminds me of when I used to ask a question as a child like, "Where are you going?" or "Where is he/she going?" and the reply would be "To see a man about a dog" but no-one ever came back with the dog, it was disappointing because I wanted a dog. We did eventually get one though

A lot of hip-hop slang confuses and disgusts me. I understand some of it but I find it so stupid that I refuse to learn more about it. I feel that what I do know has cut my intelligence in half! I make fun of it in front of my NT step-brothers, it's so funny to see them try to explain things that make no sense at all.

my youngest child was horrified by the phraze booby-trap! When I told my mum she said "thats a bra isnt it?"

i never got the phrase " Crazy as all get out." My 11th grade History teacher used it all the time and i never really got it.

That and "F-in A", theres other versions with less colorful wording. No idea what its talking about.
