i got some national geographics from the 1950's

among "treasure" articles are one about a space rocket test launch "IN COLOR!", one about independent Rhodesia

i also own a hungry-little-negro-baby statuette from the early 1900's sometime, maybe older :oops:
i was fascinated by it as a kid, it was my great-granddads, and i got it when he died :]

I have a geode, and a trilobite fossil somewhere. Nothing like geology for old stuff.

As far as human things are concerned, I have a number of chinese smoking pipes carved out of bone that date back to the late 1800's. My great-grandfather brought back from Panama when he was there working on the Canal.

A silver pill-container (heart-shaped, Victorian) from the late 19th Century. I think I still have something called 'Fragments from France', a book of cartoons from WWI...

My house. Having bought the old house I now have no money for old furniture to put in it. Everything has to be IKEA. Some day hopefully I can afford old furniture too.

I don't think anything in my new apartment is very old, except for the building itself! There's a lot of old stuff at my parents' house though - my dad collects old books, and he has some from the 18th century (Or maybe earlier? I'm not sure).

A trilobite fossil, but I am not sure how old it is. My guess is about 500 million years. The oldest manifactured item or man made item is my bed head which would be around 75 years old.

A pearl necklace that was made in 1836. Its an heirloom that gets passed to the first born girl of each generation on her 16th birthday in my family. Anyone know a good jewelry restorer? The clasp is broke

Why the sad face? That doesn't need to be a bad thing. I don't own anything older either. Except maybe the atoms I'm built of, which are slightly younger than the universe itself. :mrgreen:

Aside from rocks and a Roman coin the oldest personal thing I own is a pocket knife which belonged to my great grandfather.

All my stuff is brand new. No wait... I have a copy of Anna Karenina printed in 1950. That is probably the oldest thing I have.

The oldest things I have in my possession would be the original Nerf ball, circa 1969 still in its original box (I wish Nerf would go back to making those and the Super Nerf ball like they did in the 70's), the original Nerf Disk (circa 1970) and the Atari 2600 (circa 1977). I play with the Atari even though I'm too young to remember it.
