My brother went through a few frames when he first got into BMX.

BMXes and downhill bikes tend to be especially heavy. Mountain bikes (excluding downhill focused bikes) usually try to balance strength and weight, but I'd be surprised if commuter bikes were designed with any consideration towards stunts or riding on harsh terrain.

So why are nearly all the frames made of such wide tubing these days? And what's the deal with these large-wingspan handlebars?

I wonder if there's such a thing as a green BMX.

100%

And, if you can't find one, a few cans of John Deere green will make any bike green. :P

I wonder what vegans would think of me not being able to do Meatless Monday?

They exist in a range, so some of them wouldn't care because they're not vegan for moral reasons; of the ones who are vegan for moral reasons, some of them understand that it's not an option for everyone, although there's others like The Vegan Teacher who mostly seem to be vegan because it gives them an excuse to be judgmental asswipes.

That last category might seethe, but they're not the sorts of people I'd worry too much about.

For real class you could always paint it British Racing Green.

Strictly speaking there's no one shade called BRG, so John Deere green can also be BRG.

That Napier is pretty close to JDG.

I hate proselytising even if it's in a good cause. It just sends me the other way.

Yes but after the way John Deere started rigging tractors to stop farmers repairing their own property, I wouldn't want to encourage them. I'd deliberately choose a shade that wasn't John Deere Green just to stick it to them.

That's fair. Their position on right-to-repair is utter crap and they should be ashamed.

They just picked a nice shade of green.

Well sometimes you have to sacrifice a bit of aesthetics for the sake of a moral stand.

Definitely don't wear one of these:

It would be like wearing sandwich boards for Trump.

I guess I'll just paint my next rally car army green to be safe. It's not like armies ever do anything morally questionable.

As for on my mind, I sure which Honda would enter WRC.

Or even better, entered it back during the World Rally Car era.

Especially the British Army. There's a sardonic joke somewhere in there about the Black And Tans but I can't quite pull it together right now.

I'm pretty familiar with their history, and of the British military more broadly.

It's hard to tell now, but I used to be pro-British Empire as a kid.

Pro-Israel too.

So did I when I was a kid, I must confess.
There's a neat song about them by Dominic Behan. I'm toying with the idea of performing it in Arkansas but I'm not sure how it would go down.

I got away with Sean South Of Garryowen, so maybe.
