It isn't just on Reddit that you see those sorts of complaints...
Well who would've thought that a site active for 20+ years has attracted complaints.
It would be strange if it hadn't.

But it's still off-site gossip and tittle-tattle.

I've read some, not all, of the comments about Wrong Planet's down time. It happened once before, if I remember correctly. At that time I didn't know what was happening. One day it was there, then it wasn't.

This time, I simply waited. I actually continued to write posts in notepad, so when it came back, I could cut and paste my drivel. I was not worried though. The only caveat was I wondered what if it was a financial thing? I wondered how the server(s) is funded? I often wonder that. I don't need an answer. I don't need an explanation.

I could tell something with the service was not well. There would be normal response speed in the morning, and by evening, I often could not get a response.

No complaints though. I am grateful for the person, or people, that handle the technical side of the server(s).
I'm not trying to incur favor any thing like that. I genuinely am grateful for the work and the time they put in.

I did find another site with an autism forum, and there was some bad mouthing Wrong Planet. However, the stuff I read simply did not ring true, unless it was before I joined in 2013. But it did not resemble Wrong Planet today.
It was just as Cornflake said "off-site gossip and tittle-tattle." I like that phrase, "tittle-tattle." :)

I'm in the process of finishing off an eel that I was working on all day.

Why did they turn dark rhymes about the bubonic plague and black slavery into nursery rhymes for children?

 Colorful, isn't it?

You might have missed the whole gory story? - I posted about the cause, here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=420396&start=416#p9717133
- but the posts before it (say, from page 21 onwards) might be of interest / amusement / despair.

I wonder which decade I really belong in. The 50s or the 60s.

I wish I lived in a little quirky cottage with all old-fashioned furniture and ornaments around me, looking down on to a cobbled street from the front, and from the back looking out on to beautiful fields and trees and other nature. And in front across the cobbled street there was a newsagents where I went to each morning to get the newspaper, had a chat with the friendly cashier, then went on my way to the market for groceries, and then on to the charity shop to browse or maybe buy a new book or DVD, then have a chat with the friendly locals in the little coffee shop, and finally on to buy some more things related to my hobbies and some pet food for my beloved pets. Then back home in my peaceful cottage, just pottering about with the housework and making lunch.

Such a simple, happy life. No crime. No chavs. No internet. No money worries. Just separate from all the s**t going on in the world. The only way I could live like this is if I were rich.

Yet they say that money can't buy happiness??
