I rarely, if ever, come to totally trust someone and trust is easily destroyed due to how easily hurt I am. The worst thing to do to break my trust is to ignore me.

Heh, yes. I always wanted to be able to trust someone to the degree I would trust them with my life, but I never seem to reach that point. I wonder...does everyone lose that blind capacity to trust in adulthood?

One certainly gains cynicism, especially after being hurt repeatedly. I speak from experience. I've gained both heavy cynicism and mild paranoia.....
