To me the week starts on Monday, and Sunday is the last day of the week. I've never viewed it as the first day of the week. So it's annoying when the working week begins on a Sunday and you do alternate weekends, because to me one week consists of working 6 days and the next week consists of 4, even though to management it's 5 days equally on both weeks.

Zawiercie pretty much resembles City 17 from Half-Life 2. I'd not be surprised if the latter was largely inspired by it.

I've always classed Sunday as the first day of the week but my daughter classes it as Monday

It can cause confusion in our house

I think Sunday is the Christian way and Monday is the pagan way

Someone told me that on this forum so you can blame Wikipedia if I'm wrong

I don't know the history or religion of it lol, all I know is I've only ever seen the first day of the week as Monday and often wish workplaces would start the week off on a Monday rather than a Sunday lol. It's just easier that way.

I used to work on an 8 day rolling rotation: 4 on and 4 off

I never knew what day it was and to put the cherry on top; it was the night shift

I've never been right since and that was 25 years ago

Monday is the first day of the week for me.

I have always thought of it as that and it is the standard in the UK, as per ISO 8601.

https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/days/first-day-of-the-week.html

Quote:
Setting the Standard: ISO 8601

In 1988, the change from Sunday to Monday was made official—with the international standard ISO 8601.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), founded in 1946 in Switzerland, has issued several standards concerning time and dates. Perhaps the most prominent one is ISO 8601: First published in 1988 and continuously updated, it defines Monday as the first day of the week.

Virtually all European countries follow this standard and have adopted Monday as their start of the week. Many countries worldwide that have changed or updated their calendars more recently also follow the international standard.

Sometimes I think I'm posting too many things. It is annoying to me. It's like when I would finally start talking about something in class and wouldn't shut up. I was annoying. :| :)

Me too. I worry that people think I talk about myself too much. But I find giving advice difficult, and prefer to share experiences instead and relate or empathise. When I post something more pragmatic or factual I end up wording it wrong and offending people, so it's just best to stick with ''yeah I understand how you feel...'' and ''yeah, I had a similar experience...''

Did the creators of the Simpsons get the character Nelson from John Bender in the Breakfast Club?

They don't make things to last these days

You not doing anything wrong

I think I might talk about myself more than is probably normal but I'm not always aware of it

All I know is, I all of a sudden the lights come on and I realise, I'm not the only person in the room

Isn't the slogan for a George Foreman the:

"lean, green mean, fat reducing, grilling machine?
