Actually a lot of us spend time in the 'Getting to Know You' thread welcoming new members, and giving advice in other places. I don't think that precludes us from wanting to have some fun with our friends as well. Also, please be aware that for a lot of us, interactions with strangers (even online) can be draining and some of the topics can be quite depressing, so a short rest stop in a happy thread where we know everyone is a bit of a relief.
