Very few people in recent history have been LESS boring than the Queen.

I think we would be willing to trade our "king" with your King. Seriously, I would not wish that on anyone.

I was listening to I have a Dream by ABBA this afternoon. I kept looking at my wind-up Routemaster and saying, "It's a nice bus." I realized that I was holding onto an old flame. I thought about what would get me through this November and the ones to come. I put the bus in its box with the ticket that came with it. Now standing in its place are a stein and a somewhat ceramic gingerbread house. London is an old flame. A pleasant memory. I have to face reality and realize that my heart hasn't been in London for nearly 10 years now. Talk about getting my groove back was me having delusions brought on from the highs from the energy drinks and coffee. I'm going on to my 6th week without the coffee and energy drinks.

I have a new dream. A nice month away from society in the Bavarian Alps.

Today I got into a debate with a colleague about a man who'd been stabbed while walking his dog (in the news). My colleague was blaming the dog for not attacking the offender to save its owner, and I couldn't help but say that it wasn't exactly the dog's fault. But he said that animals know just as well as people when to defend a loved one under attack. Maybe in some contexts, but the way he was talking about the dog sounded like he was talking about a human bodyguard. He said "but the dog just stood there, it should have gone for the offender". But you can't really blame an animal for not stopping an attack between two humans. Animals aren't always on the same social wavelength as us. The dog shouldn't be blamed at all. The only one at fault in the whole situation was the offender who stabbed the man.

There are times that I joke around on WP and other times that I'm dead serious. I had a dead serious day on WP yesterday.

This isn't about what time it is now, it is what time it is in Britain.
I believe it is about 2am tomorrow, Thursday, 29 October, 2025.
CockneyRebel has made another journey around the Sun.
Happy Birthday CockneyRebel!

I just found out a few minutes ago that a nephew of mine was blinded today by chemicals when trying to unclog a drain.

I've figured a way of seeing my 1800s sweetheart alive: I travel several million miles away from Earth in a space rocket, until the Earth becomes in the past, then when it reaches around 1860 I get a super powerful telescope and then I'd see him. Only thing is I wouldn't be close enough to be able to cuddle him. Unless I could go into a black hole and spaghettify my arms. Okay I'm talking bollocks.

Here on WP?
Connections are automatically logged out after (x) minutes inactivity - I forget how long, but it's several minutes (15?).
It's also not possible to have the WP software log someone out.

I used to be able to be logged in here for months on end regardless of how often I posted or whatever, but more recently I've found it necessary to log in on an almost daily basis. This is tending to happen on my Dell Latitude laptop, which has Windows 10, but on my Acer machine (MX Linux), I can stay logged in indefinitely.

I don't seem to have this problem. I can stay logged in indefinitely (albeit with the odd message asking if I am human, I was the last time I looked).
