UK or England thread?
Hurrahhhh!! !! ! it's over
Thank you all for the support.
Started the cleaning again at 7.30 this morning and took me longer than I thought to finish kitchen so started late on bathroom. Managed to get everything done but not that happy with the results so a bit anxious by time of inspection at 10. It was a different lady to usual which is part of why I was anxious but it went fine, she stepped off of the mat into the slippers and didn't touch anything.
The reason for all this insanity of leaving it till the last minute and then panicking to get it all done is it distracts me from the fact someone is coming into my home. My obsessive behavour is contamination. It works well as a distraction and tires me out so I can sleep the nights running up to it.
So apart from one or two little wobbles it didn't go too badly and then the inspection itself went very well. She said I could have new tiles in the kitchen and new carpet on the stairs but wasn't surprised that I'd rather not and I can just let her know if they get worse and I change my mind. She gave me some advice on limescale removal too, but it was given sort of motherly so I don't mind, not that she's much older than me ![]()

Oh marvellous, you can breathe now.
'and relax'
I have had my first visit and waiting for my second later on.
Staying awake is my problem and having enough energy to last 2 hours.
I was dismayed to find I had no fish fingers last night so I had scampi instead - it was ok.
So these are on my shopping list for sure

Scampi is usually breaded just like fish fingers - I only buy it when on offer as can be expensive.
You cook scampi the same way as fish fingers.
(I have another visitor on Wednesday, Thursday and appointment on Friday. I feel like hiding in a cave this week)
^Oh no! all those people.
Don't move into a cave though, not in this weather. You'll get pneumonia.

I got through the day.
Cut my second visitor short and said they had to 'go now'.
I was exhausted - plus they were late.
It should be nice n quiet tomorrow - ahhhhh.

Did you get yourself a nice treat for all that hard work?

Oh you can never have too many books! Lovely.
Cherry bakewell plaits - very nice.
When I get my car back I will get some more seeds to sow and perhaps some plants.
I am so looking forward to the next dry spell we have.
^Me too. My front garden is 6/7 foot square, a few small flowers shrubs, lots of campanulas and similar and lots of bulbs, so it's starting to get interesting. I just need to get in there and remove the few weeds and bits of grass.

I picture you living somewhere like this

Not quite but I am getting there.
I would love to live in that house too.
My arch at the end of the garden is almost there with jasmine on one side and a japanese creeper coming up to meet it on the other side. This should be complete this year. I also have a gate which opens out onto a field amid the arch so nothing at the side of the house.
The front is mostly paved with just a strip to plant things in but the back is big with plenty to keep my busy and tired.
I will take some photos when it looks a bit more interesting.
^Yes please. I will have a go at taking some of mine. I'm still trying to work out how to take photos with my phone (or do anything else with it) as I've only had it two years. Poor things never left the house, so much for mobile ![]()
