I sometimes fall into that trap, trying to please everyone all the time.

Whenever someone here says you need to improve yourself, they then go on to say how you should do things things that are outside of yourself, like get a good job, etc.

I think you have to work on the inside first.

Well to hear CNN talk Donald Trump is a total train wreck inside and out. Apparently you can not just get a job, but get one of the highest title ones in the world doing little work to improve one's self.

The idea is get a job so you gain power.
But then you have an imbalance of power in other areas,
That's when things go all wibbly and pear shaped.

Yeah...

But I don't know if I can "live" without one, since disability support may not be enough. But...I don't need much. I could live in a cottage and I'd be perfectly happy.

what else is there left for me to "work on myself"? i have a job. i have a car (nice one too, if i'm to toot my own horn). i'd like to think i'm not horribly ugly but that's not for me to decide. i don't dress like a slob, i have some interesting skills and stories.

yeah, i live with my parents, but i'm not bound by any curfew and the only people who think it's possible for someone like me to move out on my own are the ones who have no clue what life is like here. i'm not exaggerating when i say i live in one of the most expensive and desirable cities on the planet.

seemingly very few people in my life respect me. it seems i'm shut down every time i try to stand up for myself.

Living with your parents is an excellent way to save money and in no way makes you less mature. However, living with your parents can inhibit sexytimes when you bring a girl back to your place. In other for women to open up, it's better if it's just the two of you at home.

Then again that's easy for me to say since I live in a more affordable city.
